Jandrick Castro, originally from Sanford, Florida, moved to Chicago in 2018 to pursue a dual degree from the University of Chicago in Public Policy and Economics. A first-generation American from a low-income community, Jandrick is an advocate for the abolition of poverty and believes in open-border policies. He is constantly engaged in poverty work and strives to center political narratives around those most affected.

After graduating in 2022, Jandrick joined the Legal Aid Foundation in Chicago in the Children and Families practice group contesting poverty-rooted family separations as enforced by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. He is also a co-founder of GI 305, a Miami-Based nonprofit Guaranteed Income Program.

Jandrick is one of three siblings but has 73 known cousins. He is also a skilled weightlifter and RipStik sevant.

Jandrick is fluent in Spanish.
