DARRELL GUILFORD
Deputy Director
Darrell Guilford currently serves as a Deputy Director of the Florida Justice Center where he oversees the day-to-day operations of delivering vital legal services to justice-impacted citizens across the State of Florida. A justice-impacted U.S. Army veteran, Darrell brings lived experience and deep empathy to his role, driven by a steadfast commitment to supporting individuals navigating the criminal legal system. He is also an active member of multiple advisory boards focused on criminal justice reform and veteran advocacy.
Darrell has over 25 years of experience as a paralegal focusing on state and federal appeals and post-conviction remedies. He has obtained post-conviction relief for over 100 individuals. In 2014, the Florida Supreme Court accepted Darrell’s comments in amending Fla.R.Crim.P. 3.850. Darrell also served Case Manager for The GEO Group, assisting over 300 individuals with the reentry process.
Darrell also speaks at numerous events to educate and encourage employers regarding the benefits of hiring individuals with prior involvement in the criminal legal system.
Darrell is currently a board member of The Barracks Legend Foundation, a non-profit that assists veterans transitioning back into civilian life.
Darrell is currently pursuing a degree in criminal justice at Broward College.
